1D fans call Liam and Cheryl 'couple from hell' after romance is confirmed

The hunky popstar updated his Instagram picture with an intimate selfie side-by-side with the petite singer and his fans have called them “the couple from hell”

Liam Payne has confirmed his romance with Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and the One Direction fandom cannot cope.

The 1D hunk decided to change his Instagram picture to an intimate snap of him lying by the side of Cheryl, 32, amid the rumours they were a couple.

Hundreds of fans have taken to Twitter to either vent their anger that Cheryl has taken the heart of Liam, 22, or have attacked her for not being his ex Sophia Smith.

There have even been reports that the 1D fandom have called the X Factor judge a “whore” for dating someone ten years her junior.

One Liam fan who isn’t happy with the union said: “Is liam blind enough to leave sophia and choose cheryl??”

Another very angry tweeter wrote: “REPULSIVE WHORE. FROM ONE BED STRAIGHT TO THE NEXT.”

“I’ll tweet about how much i hate cheryl until my fingers fall off lmao none of y'all can stop me so miss me,” said another Cheryl hater.

“Ew I hate Cheryl now,” added another disappointed fan.

It was revealed that Cheryl and Liam have enjoying a secret romance for three months, right after the starlet split from husband of 19 months Jean Bernard Fernandez-Versini.

In the snap that has sparked the extreme reaction Liam is topless and Cheryl looks gorgeous with her hair swept back. The 1D star also changed his profile description to simply say “happy”.

It comes as first picture of the couple emerged earlier today - they were spotted walking down the pet food aisle in Tesco at midnight in Guildford.

One user pointed out the similarities between Liam and Cheryl to the hate Caroline Flack got for dating Harry Styles.

“Liam and Cheryl are reminding me so much of haroline i hate this so much.”

More fans had a lot of hate for the age gap between the pair: “Ok but Cheryl and Liam … That’s disgusting, keep it off my tl.”

Others were disgusted in the ten-year difference and one said: “Liam and Cheryl has got to be the most disgusting thing ever im scared of him and i hate her, a couple from hell.”

While Cheryl and Liam are yet to officially comment on their new couple status a source has said Cheryl is “happier than she has been in a long time”.

The insider said: “With Liam it’s just completely relaxed.

They’ve come from the same place and totally understand each other and the pressures each of them has, so there is no need to put on a front.

“Of course they have known each other for a long time, and always got on very well, but it was only in December that they began talking of getting together.

“They’ve got similar backgrounds. They both came from the same sort of singing competition and then found themselves incredibly famous very quickly.

“It’s early days and who knows exactly what will happen, but her family are happy for her and she’s enjoying herself.”
